Quadree Henderson declares for 2018 NFL draft

Pitt ended the 2017 season at a disappointing 5-7, but the program can celebrate Quadree Henderson making the move to the NFL.

The versatile wide receiver announced his decision Monday.

Henderson emerged as a well-rounded playmaker during the 2016 season and earned second-team AP All-America honors.

The speedster collected 631 rushing yards as a jet-sweep artist, catching 26 passes for 286 yards and scoring six times on offense. Plus, he ranked fifth nationally with a 30.5-yard kick-return average and added four special-teams touchdowns.

The 2017 campaign wasn’t as friendly to Henderson, though the departure of offensive coordinator Matt Canada and an unsettled quarterback situation didn’t help. Nevertheless, Henderson still registered 100.3 all-purpose yards per game and garnered a second-team All-ACC nod.

Between what is expected to be an unspectacular class of wide receivers and the explosiveness he showed at Pitt, Henderson will likely hear his name called on Day 3 of the 2018 NFL draft.
