Derrick Rose told reporters Friday he might need surgery to repair a bone spur. Patrick Peterson of the Oklahoma City Thunder appears to have an opinion about that.

Here’s a hint, it’s not one Rose will be pleased to see.

Ouch. Both to the shot Patterson took at Rose and to playing through bone spurs.

Patterson has played in 24 games this year for the Thunder, averaging 13.8 minutes, 2.5 points, 1.7 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 0.6 steals per game.

To be fair to D-Rose, we’re not talking about a guy who’s just now dealing with a bone spur in his ankle. We’re talking about a player who has been injured seemingly countless times since his MVP season back in 2010-11. So, we’ll cut him some slack for needing to take time out of his life to decide whether he wants to continue playing ball.

One thing’s for certain. It’s going to be interesting to see if these two have some words for one another on Jan. 20, when the Cavs and Thunder face off on national television (ABC). Get your popcorn ready!
