Nebraska QB Tanner Lee declares for 2018 NFL Draft

He’s coming off a junior season that saw him complete less than 58 percent of his passes en route to throwing 16 interceptions for what was a bad Nebraska team.

But this apparently hasn’t stopped quarterback Tanner Lee from believing he can make it in the NFL.

On Thursday, Lee announced that he will forgo his senior season in Lincoln and enter the 2018 NFL Draft. Really.

A transfer from Tulane, there wasn’t even a guarantee that Lee would remain the Cornhuskers’ starting quarterback under first-year head coach Scott Frost next season. Now, he’s going to attempt to make it in the NFL.

Unlikely to be drafted this upcoming April, Lee will have to work his way on to a roster as a priority free agent.

It’s probably not the best decision for a quarterback many view to be too inaccurate to make it at the next level. In any event, it’s Lee’s decision to make. The next several months leading up to the draft will be incredibly important for the quarterback’s future status in the pros.
