Minneapolis Super Bowl experience to include massive zipline for fans

With Minneapolis set to host Super Bowl LII this upcoming February and the Vikings hoping to be the first host team to play in the big game, those taking to Minnesota will be in for a treat.

Said treat comes in the form of a 100-foot high, 750-foot long zipline that will cross the Mississippi River for fans to partake in.

No, really.

“Whistler, Canada-based Ziptrek Ecotours will build a tower near Nicollet Island Inn and launch people 750 feet across the river at speeds of 20 to 30 miles per hour. Riders will land on West River Parkway,” the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal noted.

Some will ask sarcastically, “what could possibly go wrong here?” Others, those of the adventurous mentality, will be more than happy going 30 miles per hour over the Mississippi River in what promises to be below-freezing weather.

According to the report, tickets will be made available on the Super Bowl Host Committee’s website. Mayor-elect Jacob Frey will be the first to cross the river.
