Lonzo Ball on LeBron James: Best player in the world

Lonzo Ball took on LeBron James for the first time Thursday night, and the Los Angeles Lakers point guard shared just how challenging it is to stop The King.

After the game, according to Dave McMenamin of ESPN, Ball said the combination of speed and size is what makes LeBron special.

“Watching him doesn’t do him justice. It’s very hard to stop him with that size, that speed. That’s why I say he’s the best player in the world right now, and it’s hard to deal with.”

Ball collected 13 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds during the matchup, but the Cavs held off the Lakers for a 121-112 win. James said he left impressed with Ball’s passing ability and desire to constantly involve his teammates.

However, as the rookie guard finished just shy of a triple-double, James accomplished the feat. He amassed 25 points, 12 assists and 12 rebounds, adding two blocks and two steals to help Cleveland record its 16th victory in 17 games.

The thought of Ball and LeBron teaming up is intriguing, and — at worst — it’s plausible. Rumors have suggested James could leave Cleveland as a free agent and head to LA.

No matter what happens in the future, though, Ball is going to have an increased level of respect for the greatest player on the planet.
