Jaguars fans raise money to send 40 kids to game for Christmas

One of the most uplifting things about the holiday season is just how altruistic we can be as human beings. It’s seen repeated over and over again throughout time. Holiday cheer. Giving back. Helping those in need.

And it has continued to expand to the sports world over the past several years.

Here, a group of Jacksonville Jaguars fans raised enough money to send 40 underprivileged children to the team’s game against the Houston Texans this upcoming weekend, its final home game of the regular season.

The children will each be accompanied by a chaperone, be given a $20 meal voucher and get a Jaguars Santa hat to wear at the game.

Maybe this could be the start of a trend around the NFL of fan bases getting together to help those less fortunate. It’s a tremendous group-think idea with the idea of community at the forefront.

At a time when Jaguars fans are in the news for all the wrong reasons, it’s important to focus on the positives. And we commend those who helped make the holiday season special for these children. Job well done.
