Georgia LB Natrez Patrick arrested for third time in three years

Georgia linebacker Natrez Patrick

Just hours after Georgia beat Auburn in the SEC Championship Game to earn a spot in the CFP, starting linebacker Natrez Patrick was arrested.

According to Jason Butt of The Telegraph, he was arrested in Barrow County on Sunday morning and booked at 1:30 a.m. on a misdemeanor charge before being issued a $1,030 bond. Per 11alive.com, he was with receiver Jayson Stanley, who “was arrested for DUI, possession of marijuana less than one ounce and speeding, going 87 mph in a 65 mph zone.”

This was Patrick’s third arrest since he arrived on campus at Georgia three years ago. The previous two were related to marijuana possession, the second of which caused him to be suspended four games this year.

Patrick only recently was reinstated just ahead of the team’s first clash against Auburn last month. He logged three tackles and a quarterback hurry in Georgia’s 28-7 win Saturday against the Tigers to claim the SEC crown and the No. 3 seed in the final CFP rankings.

On the season, Patrick has tallied 35 tackles in eight games.
