Following the scary back injury to Ryan Shazier, the Pittsburgh Steelers are adding depth at the linebacker position. They have re-signed Sean Spence, who was a member of the Steelers from 2012-2015.

“With Ryan Shazier out indefinitely, the Steelers have signed inside linebacker Sean Spence,” the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported. “Spence, drafted by the Steelers in 2012, left as a free agent in 2016 when he signed with the Tennessee Titans. He signed with the Indianapolis colts last March to a one-year deal but was released Oct. 3.”

Spence’s best year came in 2016 as a member of the Colts. There, he recorded 35 tackles and three sacks. His best season with the Steelers came in 2014, when he started nine games, recorded 35 tackles, and one sack.

He played in three games for Indianapolis in 2017 before being released.
