Deondre Francois upset Jimbo Fisher didn’t call, said nothing about departure

Deondre Francois

Florida State quarterback Deondre Francois is one unhappy young man after former head coach Jimbo Fisher bolted for Texas A&M and a boatload of cash.

It’s not necessarily that Fisher left the Seminoles, per se, that has Francois upset. It’s the fact that Fisher apparently never bothered to call his young quarterback or said anything about the move before it was announced on Friday.

No doubt, this stings. And we’d be shocked if Francois was the only player left behind at FSU who’s upset.

Though, based on the fact that it’s been reported Oregon’s Willie Taggart could be offered the job Fisher left behind, Francois might soon be happy again. Taggart, an offensive-minded head coach who used to be a quarterback himself, helped turn the Ducks around from an 4-8 finish in 2016 to go 7-5 this past year, despite losing his starting quarterback for an extended period of time.
