Chargers’ Casey Hayward praises Josh Gordon

Josh Gordon

Cleveland Browns receiver Josh Gordon played his first NFL game in three years on Sunday and impressed the man he was lined up against, Casey Hayward.

The Los Angeles Chargers cornerback praised Gordon. Hayward noted that while he’s gone up against an impressive group of receivers in 2017, Gordon was the year’s toughest assignment.

Gordon finished the day with four receptions for 85 yards.

That’s not a bad performance from anyone. It gets even better when we remember that, given all of his time away from the game, Gordon had to be at least a little rusty. Additionally, the Browns aren’t exactly loaded with weapons. As such, Gordon received a great deal of attention from the Los Angeles secondary.

Statistically, some of the aforementioned receivers have had better days against Hayward and the Chargers. But all things considered, it’s not hard to believe that Gordon was the toughest assignment.
