Andy Reid ‘evaluating’ whether to discipline Marcus Peters for conduct against Jets

Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters

The Kansas City Chiefs lost their fourth game in a row on Sunday, and toward the end of the game Marcus Peters was responsible for a less than ideal sequence of events.

It looked like the Chiefs had stopped the Jets from converting a two-point attempt late in the game when the defense was called for holding. Peters didn’t like the call and proceeded to literally throw the flag into the stands before retreating to the locker room (watch here).

Only, Peters wasn’t ejected for the incident.

Already likely on the hook for a hefty fine from the league, Peters could potentially face discipline from the Chiefs based on comments made by head coach Andy Reid on Monday. Adam Teicher of ESPN reports Reid is “evaluating” whether to discipline Peters for his actions.

“I haven’t made any decision either way,” Reid said. “(But) that was the wrong thing for (Peters) to do.”

Per Teicher, the Chiefs indicated after the game that Peters thought he actually had been ejected, which is why he left the field of play.

Not much has gone right for the Chiefs in the latter stages of this season. After starting out as the hottest team in the NFL, they’ve dropped six of their last seven and are now tied atop the AFC West with the Oakland Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers.
