We already know that Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski represent one of the most feared offensive tandems in recent NFL history.
Their ability to connect is one of the primary reasons the New England Patriots have not needed to add a No. 1 receiver since the Randy Moss days. It’s also led to continued domination from the team over the past several seasons.
This season alone, Gronkowski has caught 34 passes for 509 yards and five touchdowns in seven games. He’s also averaging an absurd 15 yards per catch from the tight end position.
But this one stat from NFL Research gives us a better idea of just how good the Brady-to-Gronkowski connection is in New England.

Yes, that’s a perfect 158.3 quarterback rating when Brady targets Gronkowski on third down. As you can see above, Brady is also completing a ridiculous 87 percent of his passes when targeting Gronk with a 73 percent conversation rate on third down.
That’s akin to playing Madden on rookie mode, ladies and gents.
New England enters Week 10 having won four consecutive games and tied for the best record in the AFC. It ranks seventh in scoring offense and No. 1 overall in total offense. The Brady-to-Gronk connection is one of the primary reasons for this success.
