After the Horned Frogs won their 10th game of the season on Friday, TCU announced it had extended the contract of head coach Gary Patterson through the 2024 season.

TCU struggled through much of Friday’s game against Baylor, and Patterson got into it with one of his top players on the sideline during the first half, to boot. In the end, however, the Horned Frogs pulled away to win in blowout fashion, 45-22. With the win, they’re headed to the Big 12 Championship Game against Oklahoma, one of the two teams to beat them this year.
Since Patterson took over as head coach of the program for the final game of the 2000 season, the Horned Frogs have gone 159-56. They’ve also gone 9-6 in bowl games, and went undefeated in 2010.
By signing him to this extension, TCU has effectively removed him as a candidate for other open coaching jobs. The terms of the deal are at this time unknown.
