Steve Kerr on Joel Embiid: ‘What he did in LA was terrifying’

Steve Kerr and the Golden State Warriors will take on an upstart Philadelphia 76ers team for the second time in a week Saturday night.

Having already played Philadelphia, Kerr knows how good this young team is. While Golden State did come out on top last Saturday, the team saw first hand what Joel Embiid brings to the table.

Now after Embiid absolutely dominated both the Clippers and Lakers in Los Angeles over the past week, Kerr has a blunt assessment of the young center.

He’s not wrong. Embiid is coming into his own, and it has to be terrifying for other NBA teams.

In his two games against Los Angeles teams (both wins), Embiid scored 78 points, grabbed 31 rebounds, dished out nine assists and had eight blocks. That’s about as ridiculous as it gets.

Golden State will have to keep him in check if it hopes to avoid a two-game losing streak to start this east coast trip. On Thursday, the defending champs put up a season-low 88 points in a loss to the Boston Celtics.
