Report: Tennessee interested in former Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin

Kevin Sumlin Texas A&M

Recently fired by the Texas A&M Aggies, Kevin Sumlin is reportedly the latest to draw interest in what has been a disastrous head coaching search for the Tennessee Volunteers.

ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg is reporting that the Volunteers plan to talk to Sumlin about their head coaching vacancy.

This comes on the heels of North Carolina State head coach Dave Doeren, a previous candidate for the Volunteers’ job, telling his team he plans on remaining with the Wolfpack (more on that here).

Sumlin was ousted from College Station following a 7-5 regular season. He finished 51-26 in six seasons with the Aggies. Prior to that, Sumlin was the Houston Cougars head coach for four seasons.
