Report: Jabari Parker already looks game ready

The Milwaukee Bucks traded for an All-Star-caliber player in Eric Bledsoe, and they’ll add another one when Jabari Parker returns from injury.

According to Gery Woelfel of The Journal Times, Parker is practicing like that moment could be soon. But don’t get your hopes up.

“He is running hard, cutting hard, doing pull up jumpers and making crisp, sharp spin moves while working out behind closed doors at the Bucks’ practice facility in downtown Milwaukee. Parker’s recovery has gone so well that some Bucks’ officials swear he could play real games right now.”

However, Woelfel adds that Milwaukee still plans on waiting for mid-February to arrive before sending Parker back onto the floor.

Early in February 2017, the small forward tore the ACL in his left knee. The team expected a 12-month recovery period. After tearing his right ACL as a rookie, Parker returned to game action in just under 11 months.

Fortunately for the Bucks, they have a larger margin for error this time around.

Giannis Antetokounmpo has developed into a world-wrecker on both ends of the floor, and Bledsoe’s arrival gives Milwaukee a star in the backcourt. He’s also paired wonderfully with underrated wing Khris Middleton, whose three-point shooting has surged since Bledsoe joined the team.

Once Parker is back, the Bucks legitimately could finish as a top-three team in the Eastern Conference this season. They’ll be a team nobody really wants to oppose during the playoffs — but only if everyone is healthy.

Showing extra caution with Parker is a reasonable and wise decision.
