Report: Dez Bryant ankle injury not serious

Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant scores a touchdown against the Colts in NFL preseason Week 2

The Dallas Cowboys finished their Week 9 triumph over the Kansas City Chiefs without Dez Bryant, but he might not be gone long.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, a source said Bryant’s right ankle injury is “not serious.”

The injury occurred when Dak Prescott targeted his top wideout over the middle of the field. Bryant absorbed a hit from Chiefs safety Ron Parker, who landed on the Cowboys receiver while trying to complete the tackle.

Bryant ended the victory with six catches for 73 yards, both of which were his second-highest marks of the season.

After the game, Bryant said he was sore and a little bruised but hoped to be fine by the end of the week, per Jane Slater of NFL Media. As a result, it’s reasonable to expect he’ll be limited in early practices and steadily build toward full participation.

Dallas takes on the Atlanta Falcons next week, and the reigning NFC champions remain a respected opponent even though they’re struggling in 2017. The Cowboys surely want Bryant available, especially since Ezekiel Elliott might actually be required to start his suspension this week.
