NFL fines Jameis Winston north of $12,000 for Week 9 incident

Things got quite unruly for quarterback Jameis Winston and Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Sunday. A sideline skirmish erupted after Winston poked New Orleans Saints rookie cornerback Marshon Lattimore.

As such, Winston has reportedly been fined $12,154 for his actions.

After Winston poked Lattimore, the cornerback shoved him back. Then wide receiver Mike Evans got into it and blindsided Lattimore from behind, shoving him to the ground.

The whole incident displayed extreme immaturity by both Winston and Evans. In addition to the Winston fine, Evans was suspended one game. At this point in the season, the Buccaneers are riding last place in the NFC South with a 2-6 record.

Winston will be sidelined for this Sunday’s game against the New York Jets while he rehabs from a shoulder injury. Evans also being absent does little to help the Bucs’ outlook for their Week 10 game.
