Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving was removed from Friday night’s game against the Charlotte Hornets. He was accidentally struck in the head by teammate Aron Baynes, who landed a stray elbow early in the first quarter trying to defend a layup attempt.

The Celtics pulled Irving out of the game and are monitoring him for concussion symptoms, per Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald.

Hopefully this is just precautionary.
Irving has been tremendous for Boston early this season, averaging 22 points and 5.7 assists. Boston is 10-2 entering Friday night’s game and is on a 10-game winning streak, largely due to the play of the four-time All-Star.
