Kyrie Irving doubtful to play Sunday with ‘minor facial fracture’

Kyrie Irving

Kyrie Irving missed most of Friday night’s game after being elbowed in the head by teammate Aron Baynes, and he’s likely to miss at least one more game.

The Boston Celtics were have been evaluating Irving for a concussion, and now the team has divulged Irving suffered a “minor facial fracture.

Boston must be cautious with this injury, obviously. And thankfully, the team is on some kind of hot streak, which continued even after Irving left on Friday night. The Celtics came from behind to beat the Charlotte Hornets and extend their winning streak to 11 games.

So far this year, Irving is averaging 22 points and 5.7 assists per game, and the four-time All-Star is fitting in beautifully with his new team.
