John Wall: LeBron James and Co. landed No. 2 seed to avoid Washington

Wizards point guard John Wall has his Washington Wizards in title contention.

In the mind of John Wall, LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers deliberately landed the No. 2 seed last year to avoid playing the Washington Wizards.

No. Seriously.

Last year during the regular season, Cleveland beat Washington twice in three chances, though the one win for Wall and Co. did come late in the season as both teams were gearing up towards the playoffs.

And while it’s true that Washington does have the ability to score in transition and pushed Boston to seven games, we’re not convinced Cleveland was dodging the Wizards.

In fact, if anything, the reason Cleveland was the No. 2 seed is that the Cavaliers knew they could beat anyone in the east. Period. They didn’t push for that top seed because, to them, it was irrelevant.

Still, you have to love Wall’s confidence. The Wizards are highly entertaining. And they’ll be there in the playoffs once again next spring. Just don’t expect the Cavs to be quaking in their boots.
