Jameis Winston already ruled out for Week 11

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jameis Winston NFL quarterbacks

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ season is already all but over. The team might have snapped a five-game skid on Sunday, but they sit at 3-6 on the year.

It’s in this that the Buccaneers are seemingly willing to take it slow with quarterback Jameis Winston’s shoulder injury. After missing Sunday’s win over the New York Jets, Winston has already been ruled out for Week 11 against the Miami Dolphins.

“With Jameis Winston still resting his right shoulder, the Buccaneers will stick with veteran QB Ryan Fitzpatrick this Sunday against the Dolphins,” Tampa Bay announced Monday, via its official website.

This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. Previous reports noted that Winston could miss substantial time due to the injury (more on that here).

Three games out in the wild card race and completely out of the division race in the NFC South, there’s no real reason to rush Winston back on the field. Instead, Ryan Fitzpatrick will get the start on Sunday.

The veteran has thrown five touchdowns compared to three interceptions in four games (one start) this season.
