Teddy Bridgewater is nearing his official return to the field following a season-and-a-half absence, and one teammate is floored by his recovery.

According to Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press, wide receiver Jarius Wright said only Adrian Peterson had a more determined rehab.

“It’s only one more person I saw that was more determined than (Bridgewater). That might have been Adrian whenever he was coming back. Just to see how hard (Bridgewater has been) working, and I know he’s going to be great when he gets his opportunity, so we all witnessed a miracle.”

The Vikings recently activated him to the 53-man roster while placing Sam Bradford on injured reserve, so the odds are favorable that Bridgewater will start in 2018. Case Keenum has been fine as a temporary starter, but he’s not a full-time candidate.

For Bridgewater to even reach this point in 15 months is amazing.

The Louisville product had a torn ACL and dislocated knee. The injury was so disturbing that one teammate called it the craziest thing he’d ever seen. And for a while, the future of Bridgewater’s career was uncertain.

Instead, he worked to return while Minnesota showed great patience with the young quarterback. Now, the Vikings can start having Super Bowl dreams once a healthy Bridgewater is back under center.
