Giants’ Damon Harrison shades Papa John’s

The pizza chain Papa John’s announced on Wednesday that it is pulling some of its advertising from NFL games due to what founder John Schnatte indicated was disappointment over NFL leadership.

The move itself is in response to ongoing National Anthem protests around the game.

“The NFL has hurt us. We are disappointed the NFL and its leadership did not resolve this,” Schnatte said, via ESPN. “Leadership starts at the top, and this is an example of poor leadership.”

The executive went on to say that this should have been “nipped in the bud” last year.

Whether the reasoning behind this move makes sense isn’t necessarily the point. NFL players themselves have started to respond in kind. And this one tweet from New York Giants defensive lineman Damon Harrison is the best of the bunch.

This one scribe stands with Harrison. Domino’s actually fields a much more improved product than we’ve seen in the past. The larger question here is who the heck orders pizza from a chain restaurant? Come on, Damon, you’re worth a few million. Splurge on some awesome New York style pizza.

Here’s a few recommendations.

Thanks, and good night.
