Giancarlo Stanton and Jose Altuve make height history as MLB MVPs

Baseball is truly a sport for all shapes and sizes. For proof of that, just look at the men who won 2017’s MVP Awards, Giancarlo Stanton and Jose Altuve.

Stanton, the Miami Marlins’ right fielder, stands 6-foot-6. That’s in sharp contrast to Altuve, the Houston Astros’ second baseman. No MVP from either league has been as tall as Stanton, or as short as Altuve.

Altuve’s record seems safe for a while. The 6-foot-7 Aaron Judge, on the other hand, may have something to say about Stanton’s record soon.

Certainly, the 2017 season gave hope to kids everywhere that baseball can be played at the highest level by people of all sizes.
