Former NBA All-Star, world champion David Lee retires

An All-Star with the New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors during a 12-year NBA career, David Lee announced his retirement from the Association in an Instagram post on Sunday.

Lee, 34, last played with the San Antonio Spurs in 2016-17. More recently, the two-time All-Star got engaged to tennis legend Caroline Wozniacki (more on that here).

Lee was a former first-round pick of the Knicks back in 2005. After five seasons with the team, he signed a free agent contract in Golden State.

It’s one of the moves that helped rebuild a long downtrodden Warriors franchise. Ultimately, Lee would end his Warriors career with an NBA title back in 2014-15.

The power forward averaged 13.5 points and 8.8 rebounds during his long career in the Association. We wish nothing but the best for Lee and his future wife in his retirement.
