Report: Ezekiel Elliott camp would challenge NFL over potential playoff suspension

Ezekiel Elliott of the Dallas Cowboys

In yet another turn of events, Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was granted a brief administrative stay that allows him to play in Week 9. As Elliott’s six-game suspension keeps getting pushed further ahead, it inches closer to reaching the postseason.

However, Amy Dash of CBS Sports indicates Elliott’s legal team would fight the NFL if the suspension encroached into the playoff period.

There is hardly a day this season when Elliott’s pending suspension does not make headlines. Elliott is set on proving his innocence as displayed by his legal team taking every avenue possible to fight the NFL.

At this time, the only thing that is certain — even Jerry Jones is confused by it all — is Elliott will play in Week 9 against the Kansas City Chiefs. This is huge, because the Cowboys (4-3) need to win as many games as possible to even have a shot of making it to the postseason. Currently, Dallas trails the Philadelphia Eagles by three wins in the NFC East.

We will continue to pass along any breaking news regarding Elliott’s suspension case.
