The Philadelphia 76ers are selling some Australian meat pies at their concession stands during home games in honor of Ben Simmons, who’s from Australia.
As a way to bring some publicity to all this, the Sixers sent ESPN reporter Darren Rovell a sample, and he set to work sampling on Monday morning.

Rovell loved the pie, but he didn’t do a proper job handling it. For those who don’t know, you eat those by hand, not with a knife.
Many people chimed in on this topic throughout the day, letting Rovell know he messed up.
darren the public desecration of a four n' twenty pie in the manner of which you have just done is a declaration of war as per the australian constitution we will see you on the battlefield

A word of advice, don't use cutlery to eat a Four N Twenty, that's what you've got two hands for!

That's not how Australians eat meat pies 🤔

Why'd my mans butcher it? Pop the top and squeeze bbq sauce on the meat to cool it down, then savor the crusts and top cause it's the best bits!!!

Finally, making this point extremely clear, the Queensland Police got involved.
Steady on, you could get cautioned for treating a meat pie like that 😲 #FreshPrince https://t.co/o0SgyKxqat

Let’s just say Darren Rovell won’t be making that mistake again.
