Buccaneers coach has no comment on Jameis Winston situation

As the NFL investigates allegations made against Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston that he groped an Uber driver in Arizona earlier last year, head coach Dirk Koetter won’t comment on the situation.

“I can’t talk about it. That is in the hands of the NFL right now. And we’re cooperating with that investigation to whatever extent that is I don’t even know,” Koetter said, via JoeBucsFan.com. “There’s just nothing I can say about it right now. It’s got to run its course. And when it does, we’ll have more to say at that time.”

Winston could face a six-game ban by the NFL if it concludes that he violated the personal conduct policy. Winston himself has denied the allegations as he continues to sit out with a shoulder injury.

As we have seen in the Ezekiel Elliott case, players don’t have to even be charged with a crime in order to face discipline from the league.

This is something to keep an eye on moving forward. And it’s not surprising that the Buccaneers have no comment on the situation itself.
