Broncos interim OC: Devontae Booker ‘deserves more touches’

With a new offensive coordinator and new starting quarterback, the Denver Broncos offense will have a different look in Week 12. That could mean more attention for running back Devontae Booker following his best game of the season.

“‘Book’ has really been playing some good football,” interim offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave said, per Nick Kosmider of The Denver Post. “I think Book deserves more touches. Obviously, we’ll see how the game goes.”

In Week 11’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, Booker ran the ball 14 times for 44 yards and added five receptions for 54 yards.

Denver’s upcoming matchup against the Oakland Raiders is a must-win for both teams. The Broncos enter the game at 3-7, while the Raiders are 4-6.

The Kansas City Chiefs lead the AFC West at 6-4, and the 5-5 Baltimore Ravens hold the final wild card slot. Falling in Week 12 will severely damage already thin playoff hopes, and it would be Denver’s seventh straight loss.

Booker logged just three carries when the Broncos edged Oakland 16-10 in Week 4, which is also Denver’s most recent win of 2017.
