WATCH: Officials miss obvious penalty on Amari Cooper TD

Amari Cooper

Amari Cooper has struggled big time this season. Heading into Thursday’s matchup with the division rival Kansas City Chiefs, the Oakland Raiders wide receiver caught 18 passes for 146 yards in six games.

That ended quickly in a must win for the Raiders at home Thursday night. In his team’s first possession of the game, Cooper beat Chiefs cornerback Terrance Mitchell for a 38-yard touchdown.

There’s one problem with this. It sure the heck looked like Cooper committed offensive pass interference, throwing Mitchell down to the turf before catching the ball.

You be the judge.

Officials originally threw a flag on the play, but decided to pick it up. In this case, their first inclination was probably correct.

In any event, Oakland took a 7-3 first quarter lead in an attempt to end a four-game losing streak.
