Tom Brady not present at Patriots practice Tuesday

The New England Patriots held practice Tuesday without future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady, which is always noteworthy, per Stephen Hewitt of the Boston Herald.

Hewitt notes that Tuesday is the perfect day for Brady to miss.

“The Patriots don’t have to release an injury report until tomorrow, however. So it’s a good day for the Patriots to rest Brady without having to disclose a reason for him not being on the field.”

Brady was clearly in some pain after last Thursday’s game. He was blasted multiple times in that contest as his offensive line did a poor job protecting him. To this point, Brady has already been sacked one more time in five games than he was all of last year.

He did say after Thursday’s game that he’d play in Week 6. So Patriots fans shouldn’t panic. Yet.

To this point in the season, Brady has completed 68.2 percent of his passes for 1,702 yards with 11 touchdowns and one interceptions. The Patriots escaped Week 5 with a narrow win over Tampa Bay to improve on 3-2 on the season.

With one more win Sunday against the New York Jets, Brady will stand alone as the winningest regular season quarterback in NFL history.
