Anthony Bennett, the No. 1 pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, is unemployed again after being waived by the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday.

Bennett never played a regular season game with the Suns, having signed with them in September. They were his fifth NBA team.
He was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2013 and traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2014. Following a contract buyout, he signed with the Toronto Raptors in 2015, then the Brooklyn Nets in 2016 after a buyout from Toronto.
In 2017, he played for Fenerbache of the Turkish Basketball Super League and even won the EuroLeague Championship. Following that season and before signing with Phoenix, he expressed optimism about his future in the game.
Bennett is still only 24. Given his age and status as a relatively recent No. 1 draft pick, it’s likely that Bennett will get a chance with another NBA team at some point. Still, it’s abundantly clear that his game needs a lot of work if he has any plans on staying with one team for a while.
