Report: Six Giants already ruled out vs. Broncos

New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo

The injury bug has recently become a full-out monster for the New York Giants, and the inactives list for Week 6 is already crowded.

ESPN’s Jordan Raanan passed along the list of players ruled out for Sunday night’s matchup against the Denver Broncos, and it includes five starters plus a key reserve.

Defensive end Olivier Vernon, wide receiver Sterling Shepard, center Weston Richburg, running back Paul Perkins and linebacker Jonathan Casillas will all be sidelined when New York heads to Denver. Defensive end Romeo Okwara will also be unavailable.

To make matters worse, safety Landon Collins is listed as questionable.

That, of course, is in addition to wideouts Odell Beckham Jr., Brandon Marshall and Dwayne Harris being placed on injured reserve this past week. All three players underwent surgery following injuries that happened in Week 5.

Eli Manning will have a slew of new targets, and Roger Lewis Jr. will be the only wideout who has notched a single reception for the Giants in 2017. Tavarres King has some previous experience in New York, but Travis Rudolph and Ed Eagan have only been practice-squad players.

It might be the upset of the season for the winless Giants to sneak out a victory against the Denver Broncos and that tenacious defense.
