Report: ‘All signs in place’ for Marcus Mariota to play Monday

Marcus Mariota

After missing last week’s loss to the Miami Dolphins with a strained hamstring, it’s now almost a certainty Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota will play Monday against the Indianapolis Colts.

This is the good news Tennessee has been waiting for after backup Matt Cassel absolutely stunk up the joint in Week 5.

At 2-3 on the season, Tennessee is tied with Indianapolis for last place in a wide-open AFC South heading into Monday night’s matchup. Whoever comes out on top here will then be tied with Jacksonville and Houston for the top spot in the division.

Needless to say, it’s a rather big game.

In four starts this season, Mariota has struggled to the tune of less than 200 passing yards per game with three passing touchdowns and three interceptions.

If he’s back on the field Monday night, the former Oregon standout must find a way to brush off his early-season struggles. If not, Tennessee could be looking at a three-game losing streak.
