Nike trying to figure out why LeBron James’ jersey tore

LeBron James

Nike isn’t about that action, boss. The multi-billion dollar apparel company wants to find out why LeBron James’ jersey tore during his Cleveland Cavaliers season-opening win over the Boston Celtics.

It happened in the second half of the game, when Celtics Jaylen Brown tried to defend him in the low post.

Nike is now looking into it.

“Although Nike officials declined to publicly comment, sources told ESPN that executives with the shoe and apparel giant were extensively reviewing why the back of LeBron James’ jersey split down the middle on Tuesday night,” Darren Rovell reported Wednesday evening.

It’s probably not a good look for the long-time apparel company, one that started its relationship with the NBA just this season.

Fans are surely wanting to know if they’re going to spend $100 on a jersey that will split the next time turn awkwardly or bend down to pick up popcorn from the floor. Wouldn’t you be concerned?
