As the NFL continues to extend its reach to Mexico, the league itself is taking action to help those impacted by the devastating earthquake that hit Mexico City last month.

According to an official release form the league, the NFL is joining four teams in donating $250,000 to relief efforts. It’s a sum that will be matched by Fundación Banorte.

“The NFL Foundation, New England Patriots, Oakland Raiders and Pittsburgh Steelers will together contribute $200,000 to Banorte’s Fundación Banorte to support disaster relief efforts following last month’s earthquake in Mexico City. Fundación Banorte will match these donations dollar-for-dollar,” the official release read.

The Dallas Cowboys have also committed $50,000 through the Salvation Army in order to help with the relief efforts.

A magnitude 7.1 quake shook Mexico’s capital city and surrounding areas on September 19th, killing 369 people in the process.

This comes prior to the Oakland Raiders “hosting” the New England Patriots at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City next month.
