Former NFL CB Tracy Porter arrested on assault and drugs charges

Former New Orleans Saints cornerback Tracy Porter was arrested on drug and domestic assault charges Tuesday night, according to a report by WFAB.

The incident took place on October 5th in Baton Rouge when Porter allegedly grabbed a female victim by the arm and throat, per the report. It is reported that the female victim and Porter had been in a relationship for two years. Though, Porter claims he grabbed the victim out of self defense according to the report.

Porter was also arrested on charges for allegedly possessing marijuana and distributing schedule II drugs, per WFAB. After the arrest, Porter was booked at the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

Porter was a second-round pick by the Saints in 2008. He spent four seasons playing in New Orleans, earning a Super Bowl victory along the way. Porter then spent the remainder of his NFL career playing with the Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders, Washington Redskins and Chicago Bears.

During his nine total years in the league, Porter tallied 13 interceptions, three touchdowns, 75 passes defended and 370 total tackles.
