Ex-Giants star Carl Banks calls out players: ‘Show up and GIVE A DAMN’

New York Giants

The New York Giants are one of the worst teams in the National Football League heading into Week 9, and one former player isn’t happy. Carl Banks was one of the star players in the Big Blue Wrecking Crew. He helped the Giants win two championships in the 1980s and gave his blood, sweat and tears for his teammates during his career.

Perhaps feeling the current iteration of the Giants is lacking passion and commitment, Banks issued a stern challenge to the players on Tuesday.

Quite honestly, the idea that the players need a swift kick in the rear is pretty evident.

It’s evident in the way that two cornerbacks have now been suspended in recent weeks, most recently with Janoris Jenkins being suspended indefinitely for violating team rules. And remember, this is a guy who should be pulling his weight more than most after the Giants signed him to a lucrative free-agent contract before last year.

The Giants are falling apart at the seams. Head coach Ben McAdoo seems incapable of pulling the team together, and at this point that might have to either come from the players themselves or not happen at all.
