Colts head coach has interesting take on team’s RB situation

Chuck Pagano

The Indianapolis Colts lost running back Robert Turbin to a season-ending arm injury in Monday’s loss to the Tennessee Titans. This leaves veteran Frank Gore and rookie Marlon Mack as the two primary running backs for the remainder of the year.

In talking about his running back situation, Colts head coach Chuck Pagano seemingly tried to fill some of his presser with a riddle. Let’ see if you can point out what he did here.

“Frank and Mack. Mack and Frank. Mack and Cheese.”

What a cornball.

For Colts fans, the hope is that Mack will see more touches moving forward. Despite putting up 18 yards on two touches against Tennessee, the team completely forgot about him in the run game. That came a week after he gained 91 yards on nine rush attempts.

Sure Frank Gore is the elder statesman here. He’s also proven to still be a capable back, but Mack is a potential difference-maker for a team that’s going to remain without Andrew Luck for the foreseeable future.

Maybe Pagano just had mac and cheese on his mind during the presser. That would explain a lot.
