Browns DC Gregg Williams hopes Marcus Mariota’s hamstring is ‘hurting a lot’

Marcus Mariota

In Week 7, the winless Cleveland Browns will host the Tennessee Titans. Might the Browns actually pull off their first win against quarterback Marcus Mariota, who returned to action last week from a hamstring injury?

This not-so-nice comment was made by Browns defensive coordinator Gregg Williams about Mariota’s health, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

Well we are talking about Mr. Bountygate himself, so this is hardly surprising. Also, be careful what you wish for, coach. Last week Mariota showed he’s pretty lethal even on one leg.

It appears Williams is hoping his team can take advantage of Mariota, who is not playing at 100 percent. The Titans pulled off a win last week when Mariota passed for 306 yards and one touchdown against the Indianapolis Colts.

As for the Browns, their season is already in the dumpster as their quarterback struggles continue.

Williams’ sentiment about hoping Mariota “hurting a lot” so that his team can maybe take advantage is a sad one, to say the least.
