Antonio Brown ‘glad’ Ben Roethlisberger called him out

Antonio Brown

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown had an epic sideline meltdown (watch here) last week in a win against the Baltimore Ravens. It was not soon afterwards that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger called Brown out for his temper tantrum.

Given some time to think about his behavior, Brown has come around and actually appreciates that Big Ben took the public stance he did about Brown’s heated antics.

“It’s no excuse for my behavior. I’m glad Roethlisberger did what he did. He called me out,” Brown said, via Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. “As a general of our team, he has every right to call anything out. … I’m just grateful we have a great leader who’s forgiving and accommodating and willing to talk to me.”

Brown was targeted nine times but only caught four passes for 34 yards in last Sunday’s blowout loss. He was upset that Roethlisberger did not target him being wide open on a touchdown opportunity.

Despite his meager contribution, the Steelers still won, which is the point. Even though Brown’s ego was bruised, it appears he is back on track and all sideline Gatorade containers this Sunday will be safe.

The 3-1 Steelers host the Jacksonville Jaguars this in Week 5.
