South Florida continues to do some funky things during Charlie Strong’s first year at the helm. On Friday night against Illinois, following a successful first offensive possession, kicker Emilio Nadelman had his field-goal attempt blocked by Illinois.

Then on the next offensive possession, following a gorgeous touchdown throw by Quinton Flowers to Deangelo Antoine, Nadelman had his extra point attempt blocked as well. This one was returned for a two-point score.

These two plays were bizarre. It was suddenly a 6-2 game, rather than 10-0 as you’d expect under normal circumstances.
