Friday night lights are usually reserved for high school. But USC and Washington State took the stage Friday night, and Sam Darnold made an early appearance.
Darnold’s four-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, on USC’s opening drive, put the Trojans up 7-3 over Luke Falk and the Cougars. But it was a combination of two runs that got Darnold into the end zone. He first evaded pressure, showing off some athleticism that some may not have realized he possessed. Then Darnold finished off that run with a truck move that would make Marshawn Lynch proud.
Then on the next run Darnold earned six points.

We hope to see plenty more where that came from. Both USC and Washington State are undefeated entering Friday night’s game, and it’s going to be amazing to see them fight to the bitter end to stay undefeated.
