Report: NFL suspends former Giants K Josh Brown six games

The NFL has reportedly suspended former New York Giants kicker Josh Brown another six games stemming from a domestic violence altercation involving his no ex-wife.

“Former New York Giants kicker Josh Brown is being suspended another six games for domestic violence accusations, league sources told ESPN on Friday morning,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.

Brown was originally suspended one game last season after accusations arose about multiple incidents in which his ex-wife accused the now former Giants kicker of domestic violence. Despite knowing he was under investigation prior to that, the Giants signed Brown to a two-year, $4 million contract in April of last year.

Ultimately, the Giants decided that retaining the kicker wasn’t worth a continued public relations disaster. And in October of 2016, released Brown (more on that here).

The NFL’s six-game ban of Brown comes after it conducted another investigation into allegations against Brown, after which point the league decided to act. This comes after a ton of questions regarding the NFL’s handling of the situation while Brown was a member of the Giants.

Needless to say, it appears that Brown’s NFL career is now over.
