Report: Dolphins inform Lawrence Timmons he’ll be active Sunday

Lawrence Timmons suspended indefinitely by Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins may have traded for a potential replacement in Stephone Anthony, but the team is apparently willing to welcome veteran linebacker Lawrence Timmons back into the mix after he went AWOL prior to their Week 1 game.

Timmons, who the Dolphins signed to be a starter during the spring, was suspended indefinitely following his Week 1 absence from the team. At that point, it seemed that the relationship would be short-lived in South Beach.

Obviously, something has changed between then and now.

An 11-year veteran, Timmons will surely help out a Dolphins defense that has struggled with inside linebacker play over the first two weeks of the season.

The former Pro Bowler has recorded 100-plus tackles in six of the past seven seasons and was a dominating figure for the Pittsburgh Steelers in his first 10 seasons in the NFL.

It remains to be seen if Timmons will start Sunday against the New Orleans Saints in London, but he’ll definitely be active. That’s good news for the 1-1 Dolphins.
