Former Green Bay Packers and Oakland Raiders wide receiver James Jones has announced his retirement after nine seasons in the NFL.
Jones, 33, made the announcement via his Twitter account on Wednesday.

A part-time starter in eight seasons with the Packers, Jones put up his best performance back in 2012. That season saw him record an NFL-best 14 touchdowns while tallying 784 receiving yards.
In making the announcement, Jones had the following to say.
“I enjoyed every minute that I played the game, from a 7-year-old boy playing flag football to being able to realize my dream in the NFL and provide a life for my 2 boys that I could only have dreamed of,” the former wide receiver said. “God has been so faithful to me.”
Jones last played in the NFL with the then San Diego Chargers in 2016. Though, he was released by the team prior to the start of the regular season.
The former San Jose State standout will go down as someone who helped Aaron Rodgers succeed at a time when Greg Jennings was declining at receiver and Jordy Nelson was dealing with injuries.
