In news that made us crack a smile as big as the one Von Miller sports, the Denver Broncos linebacker is angling to return punts this year.

Special teams coach Ben Olivo confirmed Miller has been trying to get in on that action while joking “Unfortunately he’s kind of on the map so he won’t be a secret weapon for us,” per Nicki Jhabvala of the Denver Post.

Miller’s been one of the best defenders in the NFL since joining Denver as a first-round rookie in 2011. Since then, he’s racked up 339 tackles, 73.5 sacks and one interception, earning Super Bowl 50 MVP honors, five Pro Bowl bids and three First-team All-Pro honors.

The pass-rushing specialist is the most indispensable player on Denver’s roster, so we’re pretty confident he won’t be getting permission to play on special teams. Though, based on the off-season workout regimen he’s been through with the trainer from Hell, it wouldn’t shock us if he were darn good if given the chance.
