Report: Rajon Rondo ‘still in the mix’ for Lakers

Rajon Rondo

As the Los Angeles Lakers discuss a potential one-year deal that could bring George Hill into the fold, Rajon Rondo remains a possibility as well, per Sam Amick of USA Today Sports.

While Hill might be the more ideal mentor for Lonzo Ball, it’s hard to argue they’d be better off with him than Rondo. Before getting injured in the playoffs, he was the biggest reason the Chicago Bulls were making a strong push against the Boston Celtics.

Last season in Chicago, Rondo showed he still has plenty left in the tank. He averaged 7.8 points, 6.7 assists, 5.1 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game. He’s not as much of a natural scorer compared to Hill, but he’s better at distributing and is a better defender.

It’s going to be interesting to see which of these guys ends up wearing purple and gold next season.
