Pair of Home Run Derby tickets go for more than $6,500

MLB All-Star Game, Home Run Derby

While Tuesday’s All-Star Game is having trouble selling tickets, seats for Monday’s Home Run Derby are going for a pretty penny on the secondary market.

ESPN’s Darren Rovell reported that a pair of seats behind home plate went for over $6,500 on StubHub.

With two Miami Marlins (Giancarlo Stanton, Justin Bour) and phenoms like Aaron Judge and Cody Bellinger, it’s no surprise that these tickets are hot items.

Additionally, while past Home Run Derbys have had a tendency to drag and get rather boring, 2016’s timed event was significantly more exciting.

The drawback of these seats is not only that you have no chance to catch any home runs, but also that they may not give a full appreciation for how far the balls are being hit. On the other hand, they should offer a fantastic view of how strong the players and and what kind of force they generate to hit the balls as far as they do.
